Ty Lothringer also has a tremendous passion for the automotive repair industry, just like his father did. For over 25 years, Ty has been involved in the automotive repair industry. He began as a young boy working on cars in his driveway with his father. Ty quickly learned the basics and his life’s passion was also born. His knack for working on cars was passed down from his father; who we know was a master mechanic and radio personality.
Ty learned the basics of auto repair and customer service skills as a young man. He now holds countless certifications through the Automotive Service Excellence and a Dale Carnegie graduate. Ty is certified through the Automotive Service Excellence for Service Advisor Excellence.
Ty spent his early years co-hosting the Texas Car Doctor Radio Show since it began in 1999. Together Ty and his father performed live remotes all over the Houston area helping other preferred Service Centers and local businesses get off to a good start. Ty and Skeeter worked side by side for years at Skeeters Auto Service together building Skeeters into a premier service facility in the Cypress area. When they weren’t working or doing the show they always spent fathers day on the lake fishing for that big bass. They were always hunting or fishing somewhere in Texas!
Ty and his “KISS YOUR WIFE” loving mother have chosen to continue Skeeters Auto Service and The Texas Car Doctor Radio Show to honor Skeeter’s wishes. Ty and his mom feel strongly about keeping Skeeters memory alive by incorporating sound bites of the best of Car Doctor Clips in every live show forward. Ty is joined by his long time diesel and transmission technician Jody Chesser and Robert Gruener, owner and operator of Autotechtronics in Katy, Texas.
Ty can be heard weekly on AM700 KSEV as the host of "The Car Doctor" radio program in Houston on Saturdays from 12:00pm to 2:00pm or online at www.ksevradio.com.
